Steve Martin & Victoria Tennant, 1990

Comedian and actor Steve Martin and his wife Victoria Tennant (actor) visited the USS Wisconsin on October 20th, 1990. He was on an autograph tour sponsored by the USO. He approached the crew about wanting to go to the Gulf and help with troop morale. The Martins were well received by the crew and Mr. Martin joked his way about the deck. He was reported to be his “wild and crazy” self throughout the visit. Both Martin and Tennant used the ship’s closed-circuit television system to talk to the crew.

Martin was the first celebrity to autograph Turret #1 during this visit.
